The Musical Theater Project Seizes the Day

Sun 11/6 @ 3PM

They’re not as common in today’s slice-of-life musical dramas, but almost every Broadway musical used to have a “carpe diem/seize the day” showstopper. You know them, audiences love them: tunes such as “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “Don’t Rain on my Parade.” Etc.

“Seize the Day” is the theme of The Musical Theater Project’s next live presentation, taking place at Fairmount Temple. “Our goal is to inspire you to stand up and make the most of every minute of your life,” they say.

The cast, which includes Caitlin Hamm, Nancy Maier, Joe Monaghan and TMTP artistic director Bill Rudman, will be performing tunes such as “Open a New Window,” “Comes Once in a Lifetime,” “The Miller’s Son,” “No Day But Today” and “Some Enchanted Evening” and talking about them and their role in the great old classics of the musical theater stage.
