Sat 10/10 @ 12:30-3:30PM
One of Lakewood’s most beloved traditions is its Spooky Pooch Parade, now in its 19th year, bringing out the many animal lovers in Lakewood to see dogs of all breeds and sizes dressed up in costumes of all types, looking happy and excited to be decked out. (Cats refused to be embarrassed.)
The parade starts at 12:30 with a free, family-friendly festival in Madison Park, where there’s pumpkin painting for kids, entertainment and local businesses and vendors offering dog-related items and services. The parade begins at 2pm and the dogs and their owners march around the streets surrounding the park. Afterwards, around 3:15pm there’s an awards presentation for the best dressed dogs and owners. Awards are given for Best Pooch & Child, Best Pooch & Adult, Best Pooch & Group, Spookiest Pooch, and Best in Show.
