SPACES Shows Experimental Documentary Shot in Cleveland

Thu 8/6 @ 6:30-8:30PM

No Home, Just Landscapes is an experimental, 71-minute, documentary film by Gabriel Xavier that uses Cleveland’s downtown and western suburbs as the material for its dream-like black-and-white cinematography, as Xavier narrates a letter to a deceased friend and flamenco singer Alicia Gil provides her a cappella wails throughout.

“Xavier juxtaposes cityscapes with surreal fantasy scenes containing an anthropomorphic mouse, a secret agent, a transgender vampire, and a dancing star,” the film description says, adding “No Home, Just Landscapes is a meditation on loss, grief, urban decay, art, and social change.”

The screening, which takes place at SPACES, is free, but registration is required. Go HERE.
