November 3 —Election Day — will be here before you know it, and that means there’s a lot of work to do. Ignore all panicked responses to the incoherent rambling of the President about stolen elections and “illegals” voting from people who think he is setting up somehow going to “rig” the election so he and his MAGAs can’t lose. That’s b.s. The only way we can lose our democracy is if we don’t buckle down and work to persuade people how important it is to show up and vote.

Democrats across the country, and in Ohio, are mobilizing this weekend for a 100 Days Out Weekend of Action. And we’ve got work to do. At the top of the ticket, Dr. Amy Acton has been travelling the state in her SUV for nearly two years meeting voters where they are, while Republican Vivek Ramaswamy has been looking down on Ohioans from his private plane—no rural rest stops on I-71 for this guy! Sherrod Brown is campaigning to regain his Senate seat to be a voice for working people of all types while sitting senator Jon Husted still hasn’t answered for his role in the $61 million First Energy scandal. We’ve got great candidates lower on the ballot too, including Maple Heights’ fantastic mayor, Annette Blackwell, running to be state auditor, at job she’s impressively qualified for. She’s running against current Secretary of State Frank LaRose who is only running for the job because he wants to stay in politics and he’s struck out on the gigs he really wanted: U.S. Senator and lieutenant governor.

There will be canvasses and phone banks in cities and suburbs all over northeast Ohio, and door knocking is actually fun! You always meet interesting people and learn what’s on their minds.
