Local Musicians’ Good Boy Fest Benefits Friends of City Dogs

Local Musicians' Good Boy Fest Benefits Friends of City Dogs

Fri 4/17 @ 8PM

The nonprofit Friends of City Dogs Cleveland does wonderful work, taking dogs from the city kennel, making sure they are healthy and socialized, and finding adoptive homes for them, frequently taking their animals to events such as the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Kurentovanje to show off how friendly and adorable they are. It’s essential work given that most of the dogs are pitbull-type dogs whose bad reputation (it’s the owner, not the dog!) has made them hard to adopt. But when you see them at an event, tails wagging and tongues hanging out, you get a different view.

The work Friends of City Dogs does to give these dogs a good future has a cost, so raising money for their work is the goal of the first annual Good Boy Fest taking place at Brothers Lounge. Co-hosted by Noah Gittell & Poor Duncan, the event will feature a lineup of local musicians including  Meg Stepka, Ray Flanagan, Topyraps, Guggy, Kate Hart, Prince Tucker, Tom Shaper, Accubat, Freddy Hill and Rustic Skies, as well as Gittell and Duncan, all performing songs about dogs. There’ll also be a raffle and a sing-along. Celebrate dogs together.
