Photo Cleveland, the new organization devoted to promoting photography by presenting shows and educational opportunities, is hosting a new show at the Brownhoist. It’s a solo exhibit called Memory of Tomorrow featuring images by Cleveland-based photographer Richard K Holmes, who emphasizes black-and-white photography in his work.
The show is described as “a contemporary exploration of the photo roman narrative form, and reimagined through digital art creation. This series consists of black and white still images to tell a story suspended between memory and imagination… each digitally yet deliberately rendered with the grain, contrast, and ambiguity characteristic of the Golden Age of Paris street photography.” That suggests the work might evoke the images of artists such as André Kertész or Brassai.
The opening event will feature an artist talk and short film from 5-6pm and a gallery reception from 6-9pm.
