Young Classical Musicians Perform Program of Diverse Pieces About Love

Music Upcoming Stars in the Classics, aka M.U.S.I.C. is a northeast Ohio nonprofit organization formed to give rising stars in the classical music world opportunities to showcase their talents for audiences.

For Valentine’s Day M.U.S.I.C. is presenting a program called Love Is in the Air, featuring pieces that address the enduring power of love. They’ll include a range of musical styles in compositions by Frédéric Chopin, Claude Debussy, Georges Bizet, Manuel de Falla, Kurt Weill, and Leonard Bernstein. Performers include ten up-and-coming musician from Europe, Asia, North America and South America, including violinists Zachary Brandon and Minchae Kim; pianists Jakob Aumiller, Matias Cuevas, Jackson Naglick and Lucas Peters; cellist Brendon Phelps; soprano Hanyu Zhang; mezzo-soprano Caroline Friend; and baritone Colin DeMatteo.

The concert takes place at the Church of the Western Reserve in Pepper Pike, and will be followed by a reception to meet the musicians. Go here for tickets.
