In honor of Black History Month, the downtown Cleveland Public Library’s Music on Main series presents one of the area’s many noted jazz musicians. The Theron Brown Trio features pianist Theron Brown, a Zanesville native now based in Akron, earned degrees in both jazz and classical performance at the University of Akron before launching what’s already been a busy career. He teaches jazz piano at Kent State University and he’s co-founder/director of Akron’s Rubber City Jazz & Blues Festival. He even appeared in the Miles Davis bio film Miles Ahead as a young Herbie Hancock. In his late 30s, he’s one of the area’s talented pool of mid-career musicians who make up northeast Ohio’s thriving jazz scene.
It’s free. Register to attend here.
