Trumpet player/vocalist/composer Keyon Harrold is, at 45, just coming into his prime as a jazz-based musician who draws in influences from soul, hip hop and other genres. He’s worked with artists such as Nas, Common, Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z, and composed extensively for television and film, making these influences feel organic. He’s also released three albums as a band leader, including 2024’s Foreverland, and serves as the artistic advisor for Jazz St. Louis, where he’s from.
Harrold will be performing at the Tri-C Metro campus Auditorium this week as part of the Tri-C Performing Arts Series. Tickets are available here.
