Akron Soundtrack Composer Silas Hite Debuts New Album at Listening Party with Art Show

Sat 2/7 @ 7-9PM

Silas Hite is an Akron-based composer of music for films, TV shows, video games, commercials and even art exhibitions. Bit his latest soundtrack is for a movie that doesn’t even exist. It’s called The Return of the Vampire Hustlers from Hell, which he claims has taken four years to record in five studios in three cities on two continents. One of those studios is Hite’s own new Bath Time Studios located on Bath Township in Summit County.

To share the new project with the public, Hite will be thrown a free, all-ages record release party at the Electric Company, 15 Broad Street Akron. It will be accompanied by an art exhibit, anchored by graphic illustrator Derek Zimmerman (D-WREX) whose artwork inspired the album’s theme described as “a gritty NYC underworld where female vampires prey on unsuspecting victims.” Zimmerman’s prints and video art will set the tone for the show. Other artists in the group show, whose work will respond to the music, include Amy Mothersbaugh, Matt Horak, Liz Maugans, Liz Scott, Chris Bragg, Ron Copeland, Beth Becker, Mike Gable, Eric Starr, Micah Kraus, Anderson Turner, Patrick Whitehorn-Schmidt, Gabe Crate, Chynna Jenkins and Hite himself.

The album will be playing during the event and signed vinyl copies will be available for purchase. There will also be light refreshments, coffee and a cash bar available for a donation to the venue. Get more information here.
