Sat 1/24 @ noon-6PM
The snow and cold are here. You might as well enjoy them. And Main Street Kent will help you out when it presents its annual celebration of winter: Kent Snow Day., an afternoon of activities for people of all ages.
They include a live ice carving demonstration of course, practically a requirement for winter festivals. There’ll also be fire pits, free s’mores, snow-themed games and activities, live music (check the schedule; it’s been moved indoors due to cold), fire dancers, a Snow Day postcard activity at local businesses, Olympic Village winter games with prizes at Dan Smith Community Park, special promotions in local businesses, and warm-up stations with cocoa, coffee and treats. For those who want to party into the evening, some local bars will also be hosting music later. With so much going on, you’ll want to dress warm — although you can also duck into one of downtown Kent’s many businesses to thaw out.
