If you’re a procrastinator when it comes to holiday shopping, the good news is that there are always some late-in-the-schedule maker markets where you can meet artists and buy directly from them. One of those is Lakewood’s Lake Erie Building aka the Screw Factory, which, like many of the area’s older industrial buildings, has been colonized by artist studios and small businesses. You’ll find ceramics, jewelry, painting, glass arts, photography, vintage items and more. You can visit artist studios, look around, hang out and browse a large selection of their work in their own space.
In addition, for the big holiday market, the event spaces, the Templar Room and the Lake Erie Room, are filled with guest artisans for this event, offering even more choices. They bring fine art such as paintings, prints, ceramics, photography, wood and glass work and sculpture along with items jewelry, purses, perfumes, T-shirts, body products, coffees and teas, lamps, and apparel. Drinks and snacks are always available as well.
Admission and parking are free.
