The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is open seven days a week (except Christmas and New Year’s Day) from 120am-4pm, a gift for those looking for something to do on a typically sleepy Monday. If you can brave the cold, many of the animals are cold lovers, such as the snow leopards which are native to South and Central Asian mountain ranges such as the Himalayas. If you’re lucky, you might find them cavorting in the snow. If not, you might find them sleeping like your cat at home. Amur tigers, American bison, caribou (reindeer), and red pandas are all acclimated to the cold as well, and many are likely to be active, although the bears survive by hibernating.
