CMA’s MIX Party Combines Winter and Global Music Themes

Fri 12/5 @ 6-10PM

The theme for this month’s edition of the Cleveland Museum of Art’s popular MIX parties is a concession to the weather that’s blown in to chase away the fall: “Snow Globe.”

It’s a winter-themed event with music from around the globe, as the title suggests. Lagos, Nigeria DJ Ik Dubaku will play Afrobeat, Afro house and dance music from Asia and other locales, while Cleveland’s DJ Flaco Flash will bring the Latin vibe with music from Central and South America and the Caribbean. There’ll be plenty of room for dancing in the Ames Family Atrium, which will be adorned with holiday decor. Over in the Reid Gallery,  (#217) Gabriel’s Horns brass quintet will perform popular holiday tunes. And ticket holders can stop downstairs to the special exhibitions gallery to see the current show Renaissance to Runway: The Enduring Italian Houses, included in the MIX ticket price.

As always there will be food and drinks for purchase, reflecting the evening’s theme. Get your tickets here, and if so moved, dress up in a holiday-themed ensemble!
