Screw Factory Artists Open Their Doors for Small Business Saturday

Sat 11/29 @ 10AM-6PM

Starting this weekend, you’ll find no shortage of opportunities to shop directly from local artists, craftspeople and vendors selling unique items, mostly handmade.

One such place that’s definitely worth a visit, particularly if you’ve never been there, is Lakewood’s Lake Erie Building aka the Screw Factory. The hulking industrial building is home to multiple corridors inhabited by artist studios, which open their doors to visitors every time they have an open house, as they are doing on Small Business Saturday. You can visit jewelers, ceramicists, metal workers, painters and more in the space where they create the work, see what they do and chat with them about the items you’re interested in purchasing. Plan to spend some time and have conversations. There’s art hanging in the halls too making this a very atmospheric place to browse — the big industrial windows lend it a special vibe as well.

Admission and parking are free.
