The Grog Shop has held several iterations of the Great Grog Shop Bakeoff, based on a British reality TV show called The Great British Bake Off, where a dozen amateur bakers compete for the judges’ favor over a period of ten weeks. The Grog Shop invited local amateur bakers to sign up, and the event proved popular. So it’s time for another one!
This one will feature Halloween-themed desserts so if you’re a fan of pumpkin-flavored everything, you might want to be there. All must be made from scratch featuring fall flavors and local ingredients. Audience members get to sample the bakers’ wares and vote on the while the hosts and judges entertain the crowd with their critiques. Each baker brings 24 samples so you should get to taste several. There’s a judges’ award AND a “People’s Choice” award as well.
