Nature Forum Is a Day of Programs About Enjoying and Protecting Our Environment

Sat 9/13 @ 10AM-4PM

West Creek Reservation’s Watershed Stewardship Center is presenting a day-long event that’s a feast for people passionate about protecting our environment and deriving enjoyment from it. The second annual Nature Forum, dubbed “Under the Surface,” is a day of talks by various experts on topics such as Cleveland’s unique geology, spotted turtles, freshwater mussel reintroductions at Cuyahoga Valley National Park, mushroom identification, oak wilt, predatory insects and, our favorite—river otters in the Cleveland Metroparks. (They’re not merely cute; their return to this region is a sign that water quality has improved.)

The event also includes the chance to purchase native plants from several local native plant nurseries, and to sample food from Spice Field Kitchen’s farm, located in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

You can stop in any time between 10am and 4pm to take in the whole day or just check out what you’re interested in. You can find a more information and a schedule of events here.
