Twist Drill Building Artists Open Their Doors to Visitors

Sat 8/9 @ noon-5PM

A few years back, when the sale of the ArtCraft Building was first being bandied about, a group of its artist residents picked up stakes and moved en masse to the Twist Drill Building, a former industrial building a few miles to the northeast. There the owner created a series of artist studios on the fifth floor of the building already occupied by a number of creative business such as dance studios and The Cleveland Orchestra’s scene shop. And other artists soon joined them.

Since then, the artists have hosted a holiday sale and an open house, the latter taking place this week. More than 20 artists will have their doors open or be set up on the fifth floor. There’ll be light refreshments and three artist talks. At 1pm painter Alan Mintz will talk about “Risk Taking Through the Arts.” At 2, mixed-media artist Joyce Morrow will discuss “The Art of Story.” And at 3, ceramics artist Claire Raach will share on the subject of “Behind the Scenes of Making Progress.”

The event is free and open to all.
