Brent Kirby has long been one of Cleveland’s busiest musicians. He’s played with bands such as the Jack Fords and his own Brent Kirby Band. He performs relentless on his own as a singer/songwriter/ guitarist. He’s been hosting his 10X3 band/songwriter showcases, now twice monthly at the BOP STOP, for fifteen years. He’s been the booker for many festivals and concert series, providing working opportunities for other musicians.
And now he has a new album, titled On + On + On. Appropriately, he’ll be celebrating its release at the BOP STOP. It features ten new songs, recorded and produced by noted producer (and Canton resident) Don Dixon at an 1800s farmhouse at Riverdog Retreat in Lorain County. His press release says the songs are about “redemption, loss, and reflection.”
He introduced the album about a month ago with a release party at the BOP STOP and now he’s doing another at the Rialto Theater in Akron. He’ll be joined Andy Leach on guitar, Don Dixon on bass, and Jeremy McCabe on drums, and Dixon will open the show with a solo set. Get tickets here.
