Cain Park Arts Festival Offers a Free Weekend of Art-Browsing and Entertainment

Fri 7/11 @ 3-8PM

Sat 7/12 @10AM-8PM

Sun 7/13 @ 11AM-5PM

The Cain Park Arts Festival, now in its 48th year, is as much about the atmosphere as the art, with artist booths lining both sides of the park’s tree-shaded sidewalks for its whole length. The festival invites more than 130 local, regional and national artists to show and sell their work in a wide range of styles and media — painting, prints, watercolor, photography, collage, sculpture, ceramics, wearable art, glass, wood and, of course, tons of jewelry. Stylistically, it ranges from the predictable landscapes and photos of rowboats tied to docks to new combinations of media and offbeat imagery.

There are also food concessions, an interactive mural painting and live entertainment, including roots music band Bent String and jazz/soul/pop singer Vanessa Rubin on Friday, the Athena String Quartet, the Chris Burge jazz trio and nostalgia band the Airchiefs on Saturday, and former Michael Stanley guitarist Marc Lee Shannon with his band The Other Brothers on Sunday. Admission is free all three days.
