Mon 6/16 @ 7-9PM
The monthly musicians’ workshops hosted by Cleveland Rocks: Past Present Future at the Cleveland Rocks Shop in the Waterloo Arts District are intended to give musicians nuts-and-bolts advice about the business side of their careers, courtesy of people who’ve been there.
One of those people is CRPPF’s own David Kennedy, and he’ll be the speaker this week on the topic of Performing Rights organizations, such as ASCAP and BMI, which collect performance royalties for artists but which many artists working on a small or local scale don’t understand or think are only of value to big stars.
The discussion takes place from 7-8 followed by the 2×4 songwriter showcase where four songwriters perform two songs each. Two of the performers are Jeffrey Cruz and Kari Ann Rutushin, with two more to be announced.
This event is free and open to all. Get more info here.
