We’ve got Record Store Day and Independent Bookstore Day — and now, for the first year ever, Vintage Store Day. With growing concerns about environmental waste (especially in the “fast fashion” business) and tariffs about to explode the cost of new goods, it couldn’t be more timely. Not only is it earth-friendly and affordable, but vintage finds tend to be more distinctive than new stuff that’s mass manufactured.
Vintage shops tend to come and go rapidly, but you can start by checking out the “vintage” tab of our “Shop Local” section. (Let us know if you spot any that have closed or anything worthwhile that’s missing.) We can recommend a couple: the all-eras mix of the multi-floor All Things for You in Tremont, and Paradise Galleria in Ohio City, another expansive, multi-vendor space with colorful, creative interior spaces designed for selfies. And we’d like to give a shout-out to Elisa Vietri’s small but beautifully curated space, Moonstruck (pictured above), in Little Italy, because she was the first to tip us off about this.
