Schvitz Social Club, an unmarked building hidden on a side street tucked behind Luke Easter Park off Kinsman Road, is a relic of the neighborhood’s past existence, when Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe flocked there since 1927.
It’s a traditional men-only (mostly) bathhouse, where patrons can relax naked in a steam room or get a massage or a Platza Scrub before enjoying a meal (wearing just a towel) of high quality steak, hamburgers and drinks, with delicious Vegan options available.
While most days are still men-only, in a concession to modernity, Sundays are for women or co-ed. In another concession, it has an Instagram account. Scene’s Doug Trattner wrote this descriptive article about this old-school place back in 2011.
