Cleveland Institute of Art Juniors Present Show Based on the Role of Clothing

Thirty-seven juniors at the Cleveland Institute of Art, all part of a course on “The Role of the Artist as Producer,” currently have their capstone project, titled WORN, on display at the Transformer Station.  There they’ll be hostin g a closing reception n on Sunday April 27.

“The work in WORN showcases a wide range of conceptual and physical explorations of what is, was, and can be worn,” they say. “WORN invites the viewer to consider the relationship between clothing and memory, as well as how clothing can shape their worldview and future experiences. This exhibition has encouraged students to experiment with concepts and interpretations they may not normally consider.”

It features garments, accessories and images of wearable items, with media including painting, drawing, sculpture. photography, fiber art and emerging media. The students also students managed the organization, production, installation and promotion of the show.
