It’s amazing how many burlesque performers and fans are secretly pop culture nerds. So it’s appropriate that each year, Cleveland Burlesque puts on its Star Wars burlesque — and that it’s one of the promotion’s most popular shows each year.
This year’s show, cleverly titled “May the 4th Be With You,” takes place on Saturday May 4 at the Beachland Ballroom, and like previous such shows, it’s sure to be a marvel of costuming, props and special effects as performers take on the identity of characters from the Star Wars films and enact scenes from the movies. “From sultry Sith Lords to daring Jedi Knights, from seductive droids to enchanting aliens, our performers will captivate you with their stunning costumes, electrifying dance routines, and irresistible charm,” they promise.
We don’t have a performer list but it’s likely most will be drawn from Cleveland Burlesque’s stable of talented entertainers who are quickly developing world-class skills as entertainers. Cleveland Burlesque founder Bella Sin is sure to be among them, returning in triumph from her second runner-up finish in the Miss Viva Las Vegas burlesque competition among a field of national performers.
