Holden Arboretum Opens Display of Nature-Inspired LEGO Sculptures

Tue 6/6-Mon 9/4

While there’s always plenty to see at Holden Arboretum, whether you walk the trails and cross the bridges to drink in the landscape with its trees gardens and ponds, or look down on the tree cover from the Kalberer Emergent Tower or the Murch Canopy Walk.

But Holden also brings in seasonal special attractions. Right now you can see Sean Kenney’s Nature Connects, a collection of 14 nature-inspired sculptures made from LEGO pieces — more than 350,000 of them, depicting such things as flowers, gardeners and a giant Monarch butterfly.

“Just as LEGO pieces interconnect, everything in nature is in a delicate balance,” they say. “The narrative that accompanies the intricate displays will remind visitors of the importance of conservation, the balance of ecosystems, as well as the relationships between humankind and the natural world.”

It’s all included with regular admission. Holden is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday @ 9am-5pm and Wednesday @ 9am-8pm, and closed on Mondays.
