It seemed like Fiyah Korean BBQ and Hot Pot had been tantalizingly under construction for a decade (it was most like three years) on an isolated stretch of East 55th between St. Clair and the Shoreway. The sleek, modern barbecue eatery finally opened in early 2023, which despite its name says its cuisine is a fusion of Korean, Japanese, Cambodian and Vietnamese flavors with fresh ingredients from local farmers’ markets. It features 26 booths with built-in gas grills to oversee your own meals, as ingredients are added to the hot-pot stock. Marinated meat is the star, but vegetarian options are available. And there’s a rooftop bar/deck with wraparound views. It’s open at 11am for lunch seven days a week, until 10pm Sunday-Thursday and until midnight Friday Saturday for late dining.
