Cleveland-based author Les Roberts is best known for his 19 mysteries starring Cleveland private detective Milan Jacovich, whose cases take him to neighborhoods and landmarks familiar to locals. A former Hollywood screenwriter for nearly a quarter century (as well as a producer, actor, musician and educator in his many former lives), he relocated from California to Cleveland and used his new surroundings as fodder for his successful mystery/crime writing career.
His newest book, the C.I., features a retired former marine major “called on to help his live-in lover’s young son, accused of high-level drug peddling and forced to turn non-paid squealer for the cops.”
He’ll discuss that as well as his other books (he has written 11 in addition to the Milan Jacovich series) at a Cleveland Stories Dinner Party at the Music Box Supper Club. You can pre-order the three-course, fixed-price dinner (coleslaw, perch with French fries, brownie) or just come down for the free program. Doors open at 5; program starts at 7pm.
