Music Photographer Joe Kleon Offers Photos to Raise Money for Cat Rescue

Fri 3/24-Mon 4/3

Sun 3/26 @ noon-3PM

Most people who know Joe Kleon know that he’s the premiere concert photographer currently working in this area. They may or may not know that he is also a major cat lover.

For the past nine years, he’s been donating his photography skills to Medina-based rescue Kitten Krazy, where his adorable photos of playful felines (many taken in a mobile cat photo studio he had built) have helped promote new homes for them. The nonprofit shelter opened in May 2004 and has multiple free-roaming rooms where cats and kittens can interact with each other and potential adopters. (Adoption hours are Tuesday-Friday @ noon-5pm and Saturday @ noon-3pm.)

Kleon has also held periodic fundraisers for the rescue, offering his images from his collection of more than 1,500 concerts he’s shot since 2002. This year they inclue photos of Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Rush, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, AC/DC, Kiss, Stevie Nicks, ZZ Top, Michael Stanley, U2, Rush, and many others.

The Ebay auction begins Friday, March 24th and ends Monday, April 3. Find links to the auctions at kittenkrazy.org.

In addition, Kitten Krazy will be hosting an open house/fundraiser Sunday March 26 @ noon-3pm. There’ll be Chinese raffle baskets, 50/50 raffles and games of chance for adults and kids. Joe will have concert photos available for sale, and Eric Sosinski and Jim Tigue from Wish You Were Here will be performing live acoustic music all afternoon. And of course you can visit with adoptable cats and kittens. Donations of canned cat food, clay or scoopable litter, bleach and detergent would be much appreciated!
