Rescue Village Fundraiser Woofstock Offers Fun for Dogs and Humans

Sun 9/11 @ 10AM-4PM

The Geauga County’s Humane Society’s Rescue Village is a beautiful sprawling facility in South Russell with wooded trails for dog walking and open sunrooms for cats. It also rescues farm animals such as horse, goats and pigs in its barns.

To support this wonderful work, it hosts an annual benefit called Woodstock, taking place at the Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field. There you and your dog are invited to partake of a day of fun activities while helping dogs, cats and other animals that don’t have a human friend yet.

It starts early with  fundraising Woofstock Ramble around the polo field, with ramblers who raise more than $100 getting gift, ad joining an after party with snacks and a professional photo of your dog.

That’s followed by the blessing of the animals, and a plethora of fun activities and contests including a costuming  contest, ice cream eating contests (small, medium and large dog categories), most creative name, dog/owner lookalike contest, retriever raffle, and musical sit.

In addition, there’s a K9 demonstration, live music, more than four dozen vendors and organization tables, and a dozen food trucks. Beer and cocktails will be available too. Adoptable dogs? You bet! They’ll be there ready and eager to greet their new humans.

Admission is $5 for a wristband, $10 with a dog bandana and $25 with a T-shirt while supplies last. Kids 10 and under are free.
