There’s no better place for Lake Erie Awareness Day than South Bass Island, which is completely surrounded by the lake.

You can spend the day visiting “education stations” to learn about the lake’s history, culture and science. You’ll be rewarded with information about the life of the lake, its plants and animals, as well as the plastic pollution issues it faces and even boating safety. There’ll be giveaways as well and if you visit ALL the stations, you’ll be entered to win “a fabulous island prize.” If you toss a plastic bottle on the ground you’re disqualified!!! Go here to find out where they are.
