VIDEO: Chagall for Children at Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage

Through August 28

Not only was Marc Chagall one of the most influential surrealists and leading Jewish artists of the 20th Century, he worked in a dizzying array of media and broke all the rules of art: gravity, physics, color, meaning, all were fair game for Chagall’s vivid imagination.

In other words, he’s the perfect artist to introduce young people to art and culture, as kids are breaking the rules all the time.

The exhibition Chagall for Children employs 14 multi-sensory exploration stations for kids and their families to touch, engage and experience original artworks of Chagall and learn about composition, color, light, science, culture and creativity.

Watch the video as CoolCleveland talks with Dahlia Fisher of the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage about the exhibition, its effect on visitors and the numerous educational and hands-on activities scheduled throughout the summer in conjunction with the show.
