Playwrights Local’s mission is to encourage new playwrights and to give experienced playwrights a place to develop and workshop their works, offering writers a chance to see their works read/staged/performed.
One of the ways they expose new works is through their Festival of Short Works. This two-night performance will offer seven ten-minute plays by northeast Ohio writers. Topics range from DIY psychotherapy, to the death dance of a moth and spider, to tales inspired by Eastern religious philosophies, to the Tuskegee Airmen of World War II, based on interviews with three Cleveland-area Airmen.
You can read more about the plays here. Performances take place at the Creative Space at Waterloo Arts. All tickets are $12.
