Few bands reflected the style and spirit of ’80s alternative/college rock more than the Cure with their moody, but catchy tunes. Formed in 1976, vocalist Robert Smith has been the one consistent member, although co-founder, guitarist Lol Tolhurst, who left in 1989, was a key part of the forming the band’s classic sound. He was inducted into the Rock Hall with the band in 2019.
Now he’ll be coming to the Rock Hall for a live interview (not on Zoom!), moderated by the Rock Hall’s Vice President of Education and Visitor Services Jason Hanley. Tolhurst will have plenty to talk about including his years with the Cure, his post-Cure career, his podcast and his memoir Cured: The Tale of Two Imaginary Boys. During his visit, Tolhurst will be recording his Curious Creatures podcast at the Rock Hall’s SiriusXM studio from 1-2:30pm with special guest Greg Harris, Rock Hall president/CEO
Tickets for the interview/book signing are $10. (Admission to the Rock Hall is extra.) Go here to buy them. Masks are required for the book signing.
