To call Ever Green a traditional Irish cover band is to miss the point.
Besides the handful of new original tunes they’ve been writing, Ever Green imbues their performances with so much passion, you’d mistake them for authentic Irish rovers.
Clevelanders Dan Sweeney and Colin McGowan began strumming guitars and singing together a few years back and found their voices, and their performance styles, melded perfectly.
After working up a half hour’s worth of Irish songs in Dan’s driveway (being COVID-safe), they had the opportunity to do a concert at McGinty’s pub in May of 2021. They drew a full house of revelers, singing along and enjoying their joie de vivre and harmonies. Having exhausted their prepared material and with the fired-up crowd calling for more, they repeated their set front to back, with the audience singing even louder the second time. Unsated, the audience demanded more, so they played the complete set for a third time.
Incredibly, it was Colin’s first ever performance in front of an audience. One would not guess based on his stage presence and huge voice that barely requires a microphone to be heard in the back of the room.
Multi-instrumentalist/singer Dan was a veteran of numerous bands, most recently Super Collision, who found an audience at venues like The Five O’Clock Lounge.

Catch them harmonizing on the porch during COVID in the VIDEO above, and catch them live, back at McGinty’s on Fri 12.03, starting at 7pm.
Yes, they’ve got a longer set this time, but you might still arrive early to enjoy the show for yourself.
Find them at McGinty’s, and follow them on Facebook and Insta or on their site, www.evergreenirish.com.
