Two-Artist Kent Exhibit Features Pop Culture-Inspired Work

Work by Jo Westfall

Sat 7/24 @ 7-9PM

Standing Rock Cultural Arts’ next art show at its North Water Street Gallery sounds like a lot of fun. A pair of northeast Ohio artists, Jo Westfall and Tony Contini, present Enigmatic Interlopers: A Celebration Among Aliens, Robots, and the Creature Continuum, a show inspired by pop culture sources.

If that title isn’t intriguing enough, Westfall describes herself as “a designer of adornments, delver of semi-conscious concepts, and explorer of seams.” Contini is a photographer and mixed-media artist who works with instant film and images from ’70s-’90s science fiction and pulp magazines.

The opening reception takes place at the gallery Saturday July 24 @ 7-9pm. The show will be on view through Saturday August 21.
