Lake Erie Ink Publishes New Anthology of Work by NE Ohio Teens

Thu 7/22 @ 7PM

While Lake Erie Ink, which sponsors writing workshops, open mics, conferences and other writing related events primarily for youth, wasn’t able to bring kids together to brainstorm in person last year, it found other ways for them to collaborate.

In August 2020, a group of them got together to work on publishing a book of writing by Northeast Ohio teens with the theme “On the Other Side. They used Zoom, Google Docs and YouTube to make their idea a reality. They solicited submissions online, got a record number, and eventually chose work by 60 writers from 23 schools, which they then had to compile and edit. It resulted in a book bigger than any Lake Erie Ink has published previously.

Copies of the book are available for $12 at Mac’s Backs on Coventry, Loganberry Books on Larchmere, Appletree Books at Cedar-Fairmount or Tremont’s Visible Voice Books. You can also contact Lake Erie Ink to purchase a copy.

They’ll be hosting a Zoom release party as part of Literary Cleveland’s Inkubator event Thursday July 22 @ 7PM. Go here for more info.
