On the second Friday of each month, ideastream presents a performance by a Cleveland-area musician or musicians, on “Applause Perfomrances.” Recently, they’ve presented Latin jazz standouts Sammy DeLeon and Jackie Warren, Chris & Jack Fader, formerly of Afro-electronic band Mifune, with drummer Joe Tomino, and jazz artists Dan Wilson and Dominick Farinacci. It’s a dose of uplift for those starved for live local music.
“Uplifting” describes their next musical guest to a tee. Popular area reggae artist Carlos Jones has been leading his P.L.U.S. Band and spreading warmth and good vibes for some 25 years. He’ll be joined by P.L.U.S. Band keyboard player Peter Platten and Platten’s wife Melissa who comprise the duo Shifter Kin.
