Veteran CLE Hip-Hop Ensemble Muamin Collective Debuts New Album on Juneteenth

Fri 6/19 @ 8PM

Muamin Collective has been around the Cleveland music scene for more than two decades. Founded by MC Josiah “ZION/j-Quills” Quarles and DJ/producer Aaron “aLive/Steezer Wonder” Snorton, the ensemble made its reputation with its nuanced, progressive, jazz-inflected hip-hop music, backed by a live band that adds depth and sonic variety to their sound.

The group released its debut, Industry Standard, in 2006, and quickly added two more albums to its catalog in three years before taking a hiatus, which ended when it returned with 2014’s So Black It’s Blue. Since then it’s regularly produced a new release every two years: the Dig EP in 2016, The Hues Brothers in 2018, and now, coming up Tailor Made, its seventh release, with ZION and aLive joined by MC Jungle

They’ll be hosting a streaming performance and a live patio listening part of Juneteenth (Friday, June 19) to introduce the new music. Go here for more information.
