The Giving Tree Project is a new effort launched by northeast Ohio lawyer Kira Krivosh and state senator from Lakewood Nickie Antonio to provide free face masks to people who otherwise wouldn’t have access to them or couldn’t afford them.
Both had been sewing masks on their own, but were looking for a way to broaden their efforts. They joined with CEO Kay Spatafore of Because I Said I Would to enlist more volunteers. They started out at the Rocky River Senior Center this past week, and are now expanding their distribution work to Lakewood.
Any sewers interested in joining them will get free fabric and instructions, and they’re looking for non-sewer volunteers for other jobs as well. Email GivingTreeProjectLKWD@gmail.com to help out.
