Lakeland Gallery Hosts Skull and Skeleton Show Reception

Thu 10/24 @ 6-9PM

One of The Gallery at Lakeland’s most anticipated shows is the autumnal Skull and Skeleton show, now on view at the Lakeland Community College gallery. The Skull and Skeleton in Art VI: Folk Art to Pop Culture, which runs through Fri 11/8, features the work of dozens of local, regional and Mexican artists in a variety of media, curated by gallery director Mary Urbas.

It also features an artist reception/costume party with a “Boneyard Market,” where you can buy handmade skull-and-skeleton themes items at affordable prices from the artist vendors. One of the show’s artists, Bili Kribbbs, will even be live painting gallery, next to the beer and wine cash bar, which should be a high-profile area! Also taking place is an auction of 28 ceramic skulls, decorated by local and regional artists, to benefit the gallery. You can also bid online here through Sun 11/3 @ 7pm.

The reception is free and open to all.
