Local nonprofit Literary Cleveland has been doing great work for the last four years, promoting local authors, giving readers and writers chances to interact, and offering seminars and workshops to help would-be writers sharpen their skills.
If that interests you and you haven’t gotten to know them yet, their periodic member mixers are a great way to start. They’re open only to members — but they are encouraging people to join in order to come. The Fall Mixer takes place at the Bottlehouse Brewery in Cleveland Heights, and offers an evening of informal networking and socializing with members of the local literary community. Become a member for $50 to support their work (join here); then come to the mixer for free. There’s free pizza and a cash bar.
