It’s hard to keep up with all the ongoing events around the 50th anniversary of the last Cuyahoga River fire, which helped launch the environmental movement. Dubbed Xtinguish, they began early this year, all leading up to the big celebration June 19-23.
One of those events is a traveling photo exhibit, which is currently on display in the Main Gallery at Akron’s Summit Artspace, through this Saturday 5/18. The show, Crooked River Contrasts, features the work of eight northeast Ohio photographers: The exhibit features the work of 8 renowned and emerging Northeast Ohio photographers: Ian Adams, Jeffrey Gibson, Jennie Jones, Rick McMeechan, D.J. Reiser, William Rieter, Jim Roetzel and Christina Sadowski. It also features historical photos and video clips.
Check it out and hear from some of the photographers at a panel discussion in the gallery. It’s free; reserve your seat here.
