The nonprofit, all-volunteer Lasa Sanctuary isn’t your typical dog/cat type of rescue. Sure, it’s got some of those but its mission is wider. It aims to promote vegan living and the concept of the interconnectedness of all living things, and in doing so, it rescues goats, rabbits, pigs, ducks, turkeys, cows, sheep and more — some rescued from neglect, other from meat farms.
If this resonates with you, join the Friend of Lasa Sanctuary at the Kent Stage when they host their second annual benefit with progressive acoustic improvisational guitarist Michael Kelsey. He’s built up a reputation as one of the country’s stellar fingerstyle six-string performers over the last two decades in which he’s released nine albums.
Tickets are $25, all of which goes to Lasa Sanctuary. The first 250 people to arrive et a free Lasa Sanctuary string backpack.
