Three-Day Love Muffin Palooza Showcases Local Bands While Raising Money for Cancer Support Group

Local musician Adam Rich has been active in the area music scene, both on and off stage, for years. In addition to playing, he has his own Love Muffin label, and, for the last decade, he’s been putting on a multi-band, multi-venue event called Love Muffin Palooza.

It returns for the 11th years with three nights of shows at Wilbert’s, the Grog Shop and Mahall’s, all benefits for cancer support organization the Gathering Place.

It starts on Thursday at Wilbert’s a new venue for the low-key opening night which for many years as at the Barking Spider (and was slated for the Heights Music Shop this year, which closed earlier this summer). It features Cleveland reggae pioneers Carlos Jones and Dave Smeltz, The Last Friend and City Limits. On Friday at the Grog Shop the James Emmett Band, the Whiskey Hollow (pictured), Brave Bones and Melladramatics play, and former Big Fun owner Steve Presser emcees. The event wraps up Saturday in Lakewood at Mahall’s 20 Lanes with Flowers in Flames, Sweepyheads, Michael McFarland and XLT 1000.

Each night will also feature a raffle with more than 30 prizes, to benefit the Gathering Place.
