Canadian Bass-Baritone Gerald Finley Performs at Oberlin’s Finney Chapel

Tue 4/17 @ 8PM

Celebrated Canadian bass-baritone Gerald Finley has performed with opera companies and orchestra and on concert stages around the world, performing a large range of music and even winning a Grammy for his 2010 recording Bach Cantatas, one of many he’s released over his more than 30 years career.

He’ll be performing at Oberlin’s Finney Chapel where he’ll be accompanied by pianist Michael McMahon, another Canadian who has acquired a reputation as the accompanist of choice for that country’s best singer.

The program includes Beethoven’s Goethe Lieder, Franz Schubert’s Goethe Lieder, Pyotr Illyich Tchaikovsky’s Romances and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Romances. Tickets are $35, $10 for students.
