Fri 11/11 & Sat 11/12 @ 10AM-6PM

Sun 11/13 @ 11AM-4PM

A “Christkindl markt” is an open-air holiday tradition that originated in Germany immediately after WW II but has spread across the U.S. (If you are looking for a weekend holiday season getaway, head to Chicago between November 18 and December 24 for its extraordinary seasonal market on Daley Plaza downtown).

Canton, Ohio’s Christkindl Markt may not be as old (only 45 years) but it’s closer. And it’s indoors for all you cold wusses, taking place at the Canton Cultural Center for the Arts.

There you’ll find a juried selection of fine arts and handcrafted items made by artists from all over the country, with something to fit every pocketbook. That includes jewelry, photography, glassware, pottery and holiday items of all types including home décor, a used book booth, a “sweet shoppe,” and a café and a bistro in case all that shopping makes you hungry. On Friday and Saturday, there’s even wine and beer!

Admission is $6 in advance, $7 at the door. Proceeds benefit programs at the Canton Museum of Art.
