When someone chooses to intern at an arts organization, that person is usually passionate about the arts and eager to use and grow their own creativity. Often they are a recent art school graduate.
Frances Lee, who is now an MFA candidate at the University of Chicago, interned at Zygote Press, the nonprofit fine-art printmaking collective. She’s now returning there in a sense to curate the next show in its gallery, called In-TURN. It features the work of artists who have interned at northeast Ohio visual arts organizations, galleries and museums, including Zygote, which has nurtured interns since it was founded 20 years ago.
The show features Zygote interns Erin Adiar, Allison Polgar, Kelsey Moulton, Anna Tararova, Grace Wen (who also runs the Satellite Gallery off Waterloo), Yana Miko-Misho (who also interned at Micro Art Space), Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory intern Tony Carlone, Praxis Fiber Workshop intern Annmarie Suglio, and Samantha Konet who interned at both Zygote and Praxis.
The show opens with a reception Fri 11/4 @ 6-8PM and closes on Sat 11/26.
