One of the first projects a sewing novice usually tackles in a home economics class (if they even have those anymore) is an apron — usually just in time for Mother’s Day!

Never took that class but wish you could start sewing now? Dru Christine Fabrics and Design on Waterloo Road is offering two apron-making classes — all skill levels welcome. The class will teach basic sewing skills that can be applied to many different projects, while you enjoy music, treats and conversation. The $30 fee includes all materials although you can bring your own fabric if you like.

“Our workshops are designed to ensure you leave with much more than an apron!” says proprietor Dru Thompson. Space is limited so hold your place with advance registration and payment. Go to druchristine.com or call 440-941-0052.
