You have two choices: the violent anarchy and nightmarish carnage of the apocalyptic Republican National Convention in downtown Cleveland — or the exquisite nectar of the Hudson Wine Festival.
Now in its ninth year, the festival features over 150 wines, more than 30 craft beers and a variety of high-end spirits available for tastings. It is a benefit for NEOPAT, the Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism, a military-support charity, as well a fundraiser for People Care Pet Pantry, Rescue Ohio English Bulldogs and Spay Neuter Ohio (rescue animals will be available on site for adoption). Live music, vendors and tie-in sidewalk sales by the Merchants of Hudson are also on tap.
Along with several new wineries and exhibitors, the 2016 Hudson Wine Festival will include a new main bar feature as well as a VIP Wine & Cheese Pairing Experience running $20 per person. It will have six unique cheeses paired with six premium wines, plus an educational seminar on the products.
Admission to the Hudson Wine Festival is $22 in advance for each day, or $27 at the door, or a $32 two-day weekend pass in advance ($37 at the door). Admissions come with ten taste tickets per day, plus a commemorative wine glass. Individually priced tastings are also available throughout the festival.
